Captain D's plots expansion in two states
Captain D’s is planning to expand its presence on the East Coast and in the South.
The fast-casual seafood chain has signed a development agreement for five restaurants in Maryland’s Prince George County (Baltimore metropolitan area) over the next seven years, which will be its first in the Old Line State. Behind the partnership are Shahid Raza and Ahmed Fawad, who operate other successful restaurant and franchise businesses in New York, Maryland and Virginia Beach.
In Texas, local businessmen Dave Peters, Brian Clemens and Ruben Cardenas will bring Captain D's to San Antonio, signing on to develop three locations. The first restaurant is expected to open near the Lackland Air Force Base area in early 2026. Captain D’s already has a strong presence in the Dallas-Ft. Worth metroplitan area.
"My business partners and I only invest in the best businesses based on research, experience and performance and we feel Captain D's fits that criterion," said Peters. "San Antonio is home to restaurants and food from all over the world and Captain D's hand-crafted cooking is a great addition to the area's rich culinary tradition."
The expansion plans in Maryland and Texas come on the heels of Captain D's recent announcement of its first venture into Europe with a 20-unit deal in the U.K., its second international development agreement. The first restaurant will open in the London area this year.
