Revolve launches shoppable print magazine
The fast-growing, digital-first fashion retailer Revolve Group is looking to extend its fashion and cultural influence by launching an annual print and digital magazine.
The inaugural issue of Revolve Magazine has three covers starring Kendall Jenner, Teyana Taylor and Alex Consani. It features original fashion and beauty stories, profiles of notable cultural voices and trend-focused editorial from Revolve’s buying and merchandising teams. The shoppable magazine features QR codes that customers can use use to shop directly on Revolve and Fwrd's websites and apps.
Revolve launched the magazine on the heels of announcing a partnership with legendary designer Donatella Versace to create a new beauty and fashion business aimed at younger consumers. The independent venture will reflect Versace's personal creative vision, the company said.
Revolve Magazine, which dropped Sept. 29, is available in the company’s stores. It will also be distributed via eight pop-up vending machines around North America, reported WWD. (The magazine is also available digitally.)
Going beyond what to wear, the magazine also explores where to go, what to do and what's next, the magazine also introduces "The R List," a curated guide to Los Angeles featuring places personally recommended by Revolve Group co-founder and co-CEO Michael Mente and president, brand & partnerships Raissa Gerona.
"Revolve has grown beyond retail into a lifestyle shaped by fashion, discovery, travel, culture and the experiences that bring our community together," said Gerona. “The magazine gives us a place to bring that world together, celebrating the people, places and ideas that have shaped us and continue to inspire us. It's a reflection of who we are and a new way to invite our customers into the Revolve world."
Revolve Group, which is based in Los Angeles, sells merchandise through two segments — Revolve and Fwrd — that span apparel, beauty, men’s, accessories, footwear and home.
To execute the magazine to life, Revolve partnered with creative agency Baron & Baron, and other creative talent including photographers Fabien Baron and Carin Backoff, stylists Dara Allen and Daniel Gaines, and Natalie Tauger, who joined as fashion director.
