  • DLC Management promotes leasing execs

    Tarrytown, N.Y. -- DLC Management Corporation announced the promotions of Adam Greenberg and Heather Moon from associate directors of leasing to directors of leasing for their respective regions.
     
    According to DLC, both Greenberg and Moon have demonstrated strong deal-making skills through the number of deals they have completed in any given year, problem-solving for key spaces/vacancies, and the execution of overall property business plans.

  • Report: Kroger buys Macy’s shopping center site in Ohio for $10.5 million

    Cincinnati – Kroger Co. has reportedly purchased a soon-to-be shuttered Macy’s store located in the Kingsdale shopping center in Upper Arlington, Ohio, for $10.5 million. According to Columbus Business First, Kroger may include multifamily housing or offices in its redevelopment plans for the site.

    The Zoning Board would have to approve any Kroger redevelopment plans. Giant Eagle also operates a grocery store in the Kingsdale center. Kroger did not comment.
     

  • Fresh Market to expand in Connecticut

    Guilford, Conn. -- The Fresh Market continues to grow its specialty grocery chain in the state of Connecticut with a new location slated for Guilford. The store, expected to open in late 2015, will be located in Guilford Commons, a new retail project being developed by Beechwood, Ohio-based DDR and situated near the intersection of Interstate 95 and Boston Post Road.  

    Once opened, the Guilford Fresh Market will be the grocer’s third in the state, joining stores in Avon and Westport.

  • Gordon Brothers names managing director in Northeast region

    Boston -- Gordon Brothers Group, a global advisory, restructuring and investment firm specializing in the retail, consumer products, industrial and real estate sectors, announced that Michael D. Sullivan has been promoted to managing director, business development in the Northeast Region for the firm’s Valuation & Advisory Services Division.

  • Fry’s Food & Drug to anchor Mulberry Marketplace

    Mesa, Ariz. -- Brown Group announced that Fry’s Food & Drug will anchor the retail developer’s new Mulberry Marketplace, to be built at the northwest corner of Guadalupe Road and Signal Butte Road in Mesa, Arizona.

    The development is comprised of 17.70 acres – 5.3 acres owned by Brown Group partners Gary Brown and Todd Kjar, and 12.4 acres owned by Fry’s. Mulberry Marketplace will be the third Fry’s-anchored center Brown Group has developed in the last five years

  • Wal-Mart Canada opening 11 supercenters in January

    Mississauga, Canada – Wal-Mart Canada will open 11 supercenters across the country by Jan. 29, 2015, completing its expansion for the company's current fiscal year. Walmart Canada's total store count will be 394 stores, including 280 supercenters and 114 discount stores.

  • Nordstrom Rack announces new store for 2015, two for 2016

    Seattle -- Nordstrom announced three new upcoming locations for Nordstrom Rack.

    The company will open a 36,000-sq.-ft. store at Wayne Towne Center in Wayne, New Jersey, in fall 2015. This will be the sixth Nordstrom Rack in New Jersey.

    In fall 2016, Nordstrom Rack will open a 35,540-sq.-ft. store at Hamilton Crossing in Allentown, Pennsylvania. The property is owned and being developed by The Goldenberg Group.
     

  • Mid-America handles sale of Carillon Court

    Romeoville, Chicago -- Mid-America Real Estate Corporation’s Investment Sales team recently brokered the sale of Carillon Court located in Romeoville, Illinois. Scottsdale-based Sand Capital purchased the 29,209-sq.-ft. neighborhood shopping center.

    Carillon Court is located at the northwest corner of 135th and Weber Road in the Chicago MSA. The center is tenanted by Allstate Insurance, Comcast, Stella’s Bar & Grill, Essential Chiropractic Center, and more.
