Fry’s Food & Drug to anchor Mulberry Marketplace
Mesa, Ariz. -- Brown Group announced that Fry’s Food & Drug will anchor the retail developer’s new Mulberry Marketplace, to be built at the northwest corner of Guadalupe Road and Signal Butte Road in Mesa, Arizona.

The development is comprised of 17.70 acres – 5.3 acres owned by Brown Group partners Gary Brown and Todd Kjar, and 12.4 acres owned by Fry’s. Mulberry Marketplace will be the third Fry’s-anchored center Brown Group has developed in the last five years
Wal-Mart Canada opening 11 supercenters in January
Mississauga, Canada – Wal-Mart Canada will open 11 supercenters across the country by Jan. 29, 2015, completing its expansion for the company's current fiscal year. Walmart Canada's total store count will be 394 stores, including 280 supercenters and 114 discount stores.

Nordstrom Rack announces new store for 2015, two for 2016

Seattle -- Nordstrom announced three new upcoming locations for Nordstrom Rack.

The company will open a 36,000-sq.-ft. store at Wayne Towne Center in Wayne, New Jersey, in fall 2015. This will be the sixth Nordstrom Rack in New Jersey.

In fall 2016, Nordstrom Rack will open a 35,540-sq.-ft. store at Hamilton Crossing in Allentown, Pennsylvania. The property is owned and being developed by The Goldenberg Group.
Mid-America handles sale of Carillon Court

Romeoville, Chicago -- Mid-America Real Estate Corporation’s Investment Sales team recently brokered the sale of Carillon Court located in Romeoville, Illinois. Scottsdale-based Sand Capital purchased the 29,209-sq.-ft. neighborhood shopping center.

Carillon Court is located at the northwest corner of 135th and Weber Road in the Chicago MSA. The center is tenanted by Allstate Insurance, Comcast, Stella’s Bar & Grill, Essential Chiropractic Center, and more.
Madison Marquette names senior managing director-portfolio management

Washington, D.C. -- Madison Marquette announced that Brad Muth has joined the company as senior managing director, portfolio management. With more than 25 years of real estate investment experience, Muth will oversee portfolio management and asset management functions for Madison Marquette. He will be based in the San Francisco office.
Mid-America arranges $2 million sale of Columbian Retail Shops

Chicago -- Mid-America Real Estate Corporation’s Investment Sales team recently brokered the sale of The Columbian Retail Shops in Chicago. Chicago-based Newcastle Limited purchased the 6,600-sq.-ft., two-tenant retail property for $2 million.

The Columbian Retail Shops is located at the northwest corner of South Michigan Avenue and East Roosevelt Road in Chicago. The center features retailers Burger Bar and Elements Therapeutic Massage.
A&G Realty Partners to manage sale of Delia’s remaining store leases, DC

Melville, N.Y. -- A&G Realty Partners has been retained by Delia’s Inc. to manage the sale of the 71 retail store leases following the company’s recent Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing.

A&G Realty is currently accepting bids thru February 2, 2015 to acquire the leases, which range from 3,000 sq. ft. to 5,000 sq. ft. in key retail locations at some of the country’s top malls.
Talbots to open in January at reinvigorated Wayside center

Burlington, Mass. -- Talbots will open a new store on Jan. 30 at Wayside, in Burlington, Massachusetts, according to Wayside’s management and leasing firm The Wilder Companies.

The opening of the 9,300-sq.-ft. Talbots, which features all three of the brand’s concepts -- Talbots, Talbots Petites, and the first Talbot Woman in the market -- is part of a multi-phase revitalization that is nearing completion at the open-air retail center.
Woodfield Mall to undergo transformation

Schaumburg, Ill. -- Simon will be making significant design enhancements to its iconic Woodfield Mall, located in Schaumburg, Illinois, and featuring nearly 300 retail, dining and entertainment options. The transformation starts in January, with a renovation of the Grand Court and followed by a variety of design and comfort upgrades.
GBT Realty announces more Alabama retail with the Shoppes of Albertville

Huntsville, Ala. -- GBT Realty Corporation announced even more retail development in northern Alabama with The Shoppes of Albertville. Just off the heels of two similar projects recently announced in the regional market, GBT is developing an $18 million, 135,000-square foot retail center along Albertville’s primary commercial corridor. The company acquired the 13.2 acres on Dec. 29 and construction is currently underway.
