  • HomeGoods to open at Southlake Corners

    Southlake, Texas -- Oak Brook, Ill.-based Inland Western Retail Real Estate Trust said that Inland Western Southlake Corners Limited Partnership, one of its wholly owned subsidiaries, signed a lease with HomeGoods to occupy a 28,098-sq.-ft. location at Southlake Corners in Southlake, Texas. 

    Southlake Corners is a 134,894-sq.-ft. center anchored by Toys “R” Us/Babies “R” Us, Staples and Casual Living.
     

  • Hamilton Plaza renovation nears completion

    Hamilton Township, N.J. -- North Plainfield, N.J.-based Levin Management said Thursday that its year-long, multi-million dollar renovation of 59-year-old Hamilton Plaza is nearing completion. The renovation of the 184,272-sq.-ft. center, located in Hamilton Twp., N.J., includes significant upgrades to the common areas, and the addition of two pad sites and a 10,000-sq.-ft. end cap.

  • Starbucks celebrates 500th store opening in Mainland China

    New York City -- Starbucks Coffee Co. celebrated the opening of its 500th location in China. The store is located at the international departure hall of the Beijing Capital International Airport Terminal 3.

    “The opening of our 500th store in China is a significant milestone in our ambitious growth plans to serve our customers through 1,500 stores by 2015,” said Belinda Wong, president, Starbucks China.
     

  • Dunkin’ Donuts to open 86 new units in nation’s capital by 2020

    Canton, Mass. -- Dunkin' Donuts has 86 new restaurants slated for development in the Washington, D.C., market by 2020. The company said 15 development agreements were signed over the past year that will deliver 64 new restaurants, in addition to 22 restaurants that were previously contracted.

  • Toys ‘R’ Us to debut in Poland

    Wayne, N.J. -- Toys “R” Us said Wednesday it will make its debut in Poland at the end of November, opening a store in Warsaw.

    The company, which currently operates 300+ stores in Europe, said it will add several additional locations in major cities throughout Poland in 2012.

  • Books-A-Million to open 41 locations

    Birmingham, Ala. -- Books-A-Million (BAM), which has been taking over the leases of former Borders locations, will transform 41 of the sites into BAM stores in early November. Most the locations, which are across the nation, represent new markets for the bookseller.

  • Dick’s Sporting Goods opening five stores

    Pittsburgh -- Dick’s Sporting Goods announced it is opening five stores this week.

    The retailer will be opening stores at Fort Smith Pavilion, Fort Smith, Ark.; Springbrook Prairie Pavilion, Naperville, Ill.; Indian Mound Mall, Heath, Ohio; The Shops at Stonewall, Gainesville, Va.; and Lisbon Landing, Lisbon, Conn.

  • Saks Off 5th to close in Morrisville, N.C.

    New York City -- Saks plans to close its 20,000-sq.-ft. Saks Fifth Avenue Off 5th store in Triangle Factory Outlets in Morrisville, N.C., (metropolitan Raleigh) by Jan. 1.

    The company opened a 30,000-sq.-ft. Off 5th location in Tanger Outlet Center of the Piedmont in nearby Mebane, N.C., in 2010, which will serve as a replacement store for the closing location. The new Mebane store was designed in the chain’s loft” format that debuted in 2008 and which redefined and elevated the outlet shopping experience.
