  • LA Fitness leases 43,000 sq. ft. at Metro Center Atrium

    Bronx, N.Y. -- Simone Development Cos. announced that LA Fitness will open a 43,000-sq.-ft. facility at Metro Center Atrium, a new 370,000-sq.-ft. mixed-use project in the Pelham Bay section of the Bronx in New York.

    The office, retail and hotel complex is the latest phase in Simone Development’s 42-acre, multi-building Hutchinson Metro Center campus.

    LA Fitness’s new gym is slated to open November 2013, and will join a newly announced Residence Inn-branded hotel at Metro Center Atrium.

  • Five Guys Burgers to open at Plaza at Cedar Hill

    Cedar Hill, Texas -- Indianapolis-based Kite Realty Group said that Five Guys Burgers & Fries has leased 2,500 sq. ft. at Plaza at Cedar Hill, located in Cedar Hill, Texas.

    The 303,540-sq.-ft. power center is anchored by Marshalls, Home Goods, Hobby Lobby, Dress Barn, DSW, Ross, Office Max, Toys “R” Us / Babies “R” Us and Sprouts.

     

  • Sembler lays plans to expand tenant enhancement program

    St. Petersburg, Fla. -- After launching an enhancement program designed to assist tenants toward ramping up sales, Sembler Co. said it will be expanding its “Sembler Advantage” program portfolio-wide.

    Currently, 30 tenants have completed the program, according to Sembler, and have learned tips and techniques for jump-starting a small business, such as incentivizing employees to bring in new business.

  • Report: Starbucks to expand across Scandinavia; to open in India by end of October

    New York -- Starbucks Coffee Co. will open stores across the Scandinavian region in a partnership with Umoe Restaurant Group AS, a leading chain of service establishments in Scandinavia.

    The first locations are expected to open in 2013 in Sweden and Norway.

  • Macy’s to open 450 in-store Finish Line shops

    Cincinnati -- Macy's Inc. announced on Friday that Finish Line Inc. would be the department store retailer’s exclusive athletic footwear partner, opening in-store shops in more than 450 Macy’s stores nationwide. The merchandise will also be available online at macys.com.

    Under the agreement, Finish Line will be Macy’s exclusive partner for men’s, women’s and kids athletic footwear and Macy’s will be the exclusive host for Finish Line-branded in-store shops.

  • Cabela’s to continue Outpost rollout with Montana store

    Sidney, Neb. -- Cabela’s Inc. said Thursday it will open a Cabela’s Outpost Store in Kalispell, Mont., joining the outdoor retailer’s single full-line Billings store in the state.

    Construction on the 42,000-sq.-ft. location is scheduled to begin in spring 2013 and Cabela’s said it expects to open the store in fall 2013.

  • Agree Realty announces re-tenanting and disposition of Borders assets

    Farmington Hills, Mich. -- Agree Realty Corp. said it has executed two leases and completed a disposition of the company's remaining assets that were formerly leased to Borders.
     
    The company has executed a lease with HomeGoods for the building formerly occupied by Borders in Monroeville, Pa. HomeGoods, a TJX Cos. banner, will occupy the space effective third quarter of 2013.

  • Inland American Real Estate names president

    Oak Brook, Ill. -- Inland American Real Estate Trust has announced the appointment of Thomas P. McGuinness as president. McGuinness joined Inland in 1982 and has held several executive positions throughout the Inland organization.  

    In his new role, he will oversee the management of the company’s day-to-day operations, including the strategic business plan, investment decisions, asset management and financing functions for the national portfolio of 48 million sq. ft.
