Cinemark to open 12-screen theater

Sandusky, Ohio Cinemark Holdings said it will open a 12-screen stadium seated movie theater at the Sandusky Mall Complex in Sandusky, Ohio.

A formal ground-breaking ceremony is scheduled on-site for March 1, and the new theater is slated to open in time for the 2010 December holiday season.

An existing theater building on the property will be redeveloped for new retail and restaurant uses.

The project is the third of a three-deal development package between Cinemark and the Cafaro Co. Cinemark recently opened new theaters in two other Cafaro-affiliated retail developments -- the Cinemark Huntington Mall 12 in Barboursville, W.Va., and the Cinemark Meadowbrook Mall 10 in Bridgeport, W.Va.
