Primark opening stores in New Jersey, New York at these malls ….

Primark is ramping up its U.S. expansion. 

The value-priced fashion and home goods retailer, which is owned by Associated British Foods, will unveil three new stores this summer, including a location at Green Acres Mall, Valley Stream, N.Y., on June 22.  It will also open at The Mills at Jersey Gardens in Elizabeth, N.J., on July 6 , and at Crossgates Mall in Albany, N.Y., on July 30. 

Each of the new locations  will feature more than 33,000 sq. ft. feet of selling space.  In December 2022, Primark opened a three-level store at City Point, a mixed-use development in Brooklyn, N.Y. It followed the opening of two additional Primark locations in the New York metro area during the holiday season,

The openings will give Primark a total of 20 stores in the U.S., and 428 stores globally. The retailer has set a goal to scale to 60 U.S. stores by 2026 (and 530 globally).  With most of its U.S. stores located in the Northeast, Primark is planning to expand further into Southern states, including Florida and Texas.  On the global front, upcoming new markets include Romania and Slovakia.  

 Primark recently announced a new website that allows customers to browse its product offering and check which products are available in their local store.

Primark has more than 72,000 employees across 15 countries in Europe and the U.S. It was founded in Ireland in 1969 under the Penneys brand.

The company is working to make more sustainable fashion affordable for everyone. It has made a series of public commitments it plans to work towards and report on progress each year. These include making all its clothes from recycled or more sustainably sourced materials, ensuring clothing is recyclable by design, halving carbon emissions across the value chain and pursuing a living wage for workers in the supply chain.
