Petco is using Google ads to inform customers of what products are available for contactless curbside pickup at nearby stores.
Since November, Google has been allowing retailers who use its local campaigns advertising service to promote inventory that is available for in-store pickup at nearby physical locations. Google is now beta-testing a local inventory ads curbside pickup badge that shows customers if the products they are searching for are available for curbside pickup at nearby stores.
Petco is using the curbside pickup badge to highlight contactless pickup availability on products like pet food and supplies that are available nearby for same-day or next-day curbside pickup.
“As a trusted partner in caring for the overall health and wellness of pets, we’re committed to ensuring pet parents have the essential products they need during this time,” said Jay Altschuler, Petco VP of media transformation. “To make shopping easier and safer for both pet parents and our own employees, we’ve proudly made a number of changes including launching curbside pickup at most Petco stores nationwide.”
This feature is available in the countries where local inventory ads have launched: Australia, Austria, Brazil, Canada, Denmark, France, Germany, Japan, Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, Switzerland, the U.K. and the U.S. Google advertisers who have completed onboarding for promoting in-store pickup via local inventory ads can apply to participate in the curbside badge test.
Retailers can also add or edit attributes, including in-store and curbside pickup, to their Google My Business profile that will appear on Google search and maps. This is available globally.
