Northeast casual dining chain Ninety Nine streamlines digital hiring
A stalwart of the New England restaurant scene has updated its career site with significant success.
The Ninety Nine Restaurant & Pub, known throughout New England as "The Nines," is reporting a 122% increase in applications year-over-year and 700% greater visibility on Google and AI agents in two months following a strategic career site transformation in partnership with recruitment marketing services company HireClix.
Before updating its career site, Ninety Nine found that outdated site design and functionality sometimes led to a poor candidate experience, increased bounce rates, and lower application volume. Leveraging HireClix technology and functionality, the retailer has been able to overhaul the site and deliver a streamlined, mobile-first candidate experience.
Specific HireClix solutions Ninety Nine has deployed include location-based landing page services which enable the retailer to highlight location-specific job opportunities and drive store-specific recruiting efforts with QR codes, providing a boost for search engine optimization on Google and large language models (LLMs).
In addition, Ninety Nine has integrated HireClix Second Chance pages functionality, which allows candidates to continue to engage with the casual dining chain for career opportunities, even if the original role they were interested in had been filled.
“As the hospitality industry continues to navigate labor shortages, high turnover, increasingly selective candidates, and more, we knew we needed a bigger competitive edge,” said Michelle Davidson, senior VP HR at Ninety Nine. “Thanks to HireClix, we transformed our career site from a static job board to a dynamic marketing asset, which resulted in increased organic traffic, stronger engagement, and a rise in completed, qualified applications.”
In total, Ninety Nine says approximately 10% of visitors to the career page have been redirected to second chance pages instead of hitting an error page, elevating it ability to retain those job seekers.

"In today’s labor market, where candidates are evaluating employers as thoroughly as employers evaluate candidates, career sites play an increasingly critical role in building trust and driving conversion of quality applicants," said Neil Costa, CEO and founder of HireClix. "HireClix’s innovative career site capabilities are helping employers turn owned channels into measurable recruiting engines. For organizations like the Ninety Nine Restaurants and Pub, that means reducing reliance on third-party job boards while strengthening long-term talent pipelines."
Headquartered in Woburn, Mass., the Ninety Nine Restaurant & Pub currently operates 93 restaurants throughout New England and upstate New York.
