    BURLINGTON, N.J. — Burlington Coat Factory has joined forces with The Foundation for National Institutes of Health (FNIH) and the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute's (NHLBI) The Heart Truth campaign dedicated to raising awareness of heart disease among women.

  • Nutritious Fido snacks coming to Walmart

    LOS ANGELES — A new line of nutrition bars for dogs is on its way to Walmart.

    Though the manufacturer, The All American Pet Co., did not mention the retailer by name, it did say that its three SKUs of NutraBars were on their way to "the world's largest retailer" for its first purchase order.

    "We can get the retailer, but we can't write the retailer's purchase order," AAPT CEO Barry Schwartz said. "We created the bar and have the capabilities to meet the demand."

  • Bebe records Q2 loss on discounting and falling sales

    Brisbane, Calif. -- Bebe Stores Inc. swung to a loss in its fiscal second quarter from a profit a year ago amid heavy discounting during the holiday shopping season.

    Bebe said it lost $4.8 million for the three months that ended Dec. 29, according to preliminary results, versus a profit of $6.5 million a year earlier.

    Net sales dropped 11% to $135.5 million. Same-store sales fell 10.5%.

    WASHINGTON  — The Grocery Manufacturers Association has promoted Sean McBride to EVP communications and membership services, effective Jan. 1. The announcement was made by GMA president and CEO Pamela Bailey. McBride previously served as senior vice president of communications and marketing.

    New York -- Supply chain solution-provider DeSL said Thursday that Men’s Warehouse is embarking on a phase 2 project that expands its PLM application usage to implement the DeSL full supply chain solution.

    "Now that we have implemented DeSL's PLM solution we have full control of our product development, are sharing on-line tech packs with our vendors along with time and action calendars and collaborative costing, the natural extension was to go to full supply chain management,” said Will Silveria , executive EVP , Men's Wearhouse.
