Macy's growing e-commerce, adding jobs
CINCINNATI - Macy's Inc. hasannounced a series of organizationalexpansions, totaling approximately 725 new positions over the next twoyears, to support the growth of macys.com and bloomingdales.com.

Theseexpansions to macys.com and bloomingdales.com represent investments inmerchandising, marketing, and site development, which complement ongoingimprovements in systems infrastructure, fulfillment capacity andcustomer service."
The company said it expects to expand its Macys.com merchandising and marketingorganizations in New York City by about 260 positions over the nexttwo years and has signed a lease for additional office space at 1440Broadway in Midtown Manhattan. The company currently employsapproximately 420 macys.com associates at this location.
Macys.com'ssite development and operationsorganization in downtown San Francisco is expected to expand by roughly 200 positions overthe next two years and has expanded its office space at 685 MarketSt., near Union Square. The company currently employs more than 300macys.com associates at this location.
Macy's Inc. said it will expand its Bloomingdales.com merchandising, marketing andoperations organizations in New York City by about 115 positions overthe next two years and is negotiating a lease for additional officespace in Midtown Manhattan. The company currently employsapproximately 200 bloomingdales.com associates in New York City.
The company said it intends to add about 150 positions over the next two years to its Macy's Systems & Technology (MST) organization, which supports themacys.com and bloomingdales.com e-commerce technology platform. The positions will be located atcentral campus in Johns Creek in suburban Atlanta. The company said it ispurchasing and expanding within a building MST currently partiallyoccupies at 5955 State Bridge Rd. This increase would bring the sizeof MST's work force at Johns Creek to more than 1,200 employees.
In total, Macy's said it expects to add nearly 3,500 full-time, part-timeand seasonal holiday associates in the next two years in relation to thegrowth of its online businesses. This includes a new online fulfillmentcenter to be built near Martinsburg, W.Va, and the expansion of afulfillment center near Portland, TN - both of which were previouslyannounced.
