Walmart.com promotes reading with $3 books

3/2/2010

BRISBANE, Calif. Walmart.com announced that it is offering select children's books for as low as $3.

The month-long promotion began on March 2, Dr. Seuss's birthday and the National Education Association's 13th annual "Read Across America" Day.

"We are strong believers in helping mom create teachable moments where she can engage with her family, from playing together to reading books together," said Kelly Thompson, Walmart.com's head of merchandising. "Offering online savings up to 40% on so many of these beloved children's books makes reading at home easy and affordable."

Among the 500 selected children's books are Dr. Seuss's ABC: An Amazing Alphabet Book! by Dr. Seuss, Goodnight Moon by Margaret Wise Brown, The Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle and In My Family by Carmen Lomas Garza.
