Turn those awkward photos into college cash from Meijer
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Meijer and Dr. Pepper announced that they are often students the chance to turn those awkward photos into money for college. Through August 27 participants can go to the Meijer Facebook page and upload their photos for a chance to win free tuition for a year (maximum value $20,000).
"We are very excited about this opportunity to engage our Meijer Facebook fans in our latest social media contest," said Kevin Brown, chief marketing officer for the Grand Rapids, Mich.-based retailer. "There are more than 1,200 photos already posted and over 370,000 fans following the contest, which clearly demonstrates that emerging media provides an effective avenue to engage our customer of the future in both a fun and strategic way."
On Sunday, Sept. 4 the top 10 finalists will be posted on the contest page, where the Meijer Facebook community will have the opportunity to vote for the winner of the most awkward photo throughout the week.
