Summer camp redefined at Books-A-Million

7/6/2015

Books-A-Million is re-defining the meaning of summer camp and fun for kids this summer with a new character-based series of store events.

Summer Fun Camps at Books-A-Million will take place from 2-4 pm each Saturday in July, and feature activities based around popular characters like the Minions, Percy Jackson and Harry Potter. The camps will take place at all Books-A-Million locations.

“These are going to be fun events for the community and a great way for our customers to enjoy their Saturdays,” said Sandra Wilson, Senior Buyer for Kids and Teens at Books-A-Million. “The camps get off to an exciting start by giving our customers a chance to show their patriotic spirit on Independence Day and there will be something that everyone will enjoy throughout the month!”

"The Minions are Back” Summer Fun Camp event takes place on Saturday, July 11. The Minions are on a summer adventure and the afternoon will feature Minion based games and activities.

The July 18 camp features the Percy Jackson book series with “Percy Jackson’s Olympian Quest.” This celebration of the 10th anniversary of the Percy Jackson series encourages campers to come dressed as their favorite character from the series. There will be games and activities based on the series during the camp. Campers will also be able to join the Summer Quest Reading program featuring the author of the Percy Jackson series, Rick Riordan.

Celebrate Harry Potter Day on July 25, where campers will get to test their wizardly knowledge, attend the sorting hat ceremony and receive a magic wand, all while dressed in Hogwart’s attire. Customers who buy 2 Harry Potter books on Harry Potter Day will get the 3rd one free.

Books-A-Million Inc. operates 258 stores in 32 states and the District of Columbia.
