Sam's Club Launches Text-Messaging Program

Bentonville, Ark., Sam's Club has launched a text-messaging program designed to alert shoppers to Black Friday sales.

By texting "GO" to a designated number, shoppers can sign up to receive an exclusive e-mail preview of some holiday merchandise on sale. Standard text-messaging rates apply.

“We understand the time pressures everyone faces, especially during the holidays, and we want to make the experience of shopping with us easy and fun,” said Greg Spragg, executive VP of merchandising at Sam’s Club.

Items on sale include flat-screen televisions, electronics and jewelry, according to Sam's Club.
