OfficeMax title sponsor of Chicago green event

The OfficeMax Green Tie Ball will be held this weekend to raise funds for the beautification of Chicago.


The retailer on Thursday morning disclosed it was the title sponsor of the 21st annual event being held Saturday, September 15. The event is hosted by nonprofit organization Chicago Gateway Green, which is dedicated to greening and beautifying Chicagoland's expressways, gateways and communities. OfficeMax has a strong business presence in the Chicagoland area between its headquarters in Naperville and 45 stores and two distribution facilities.

This year’s event theme is "Alice in Wonderland", and OfficeMax Green Tie Ball guests will enjoy food from more than 60 of Chicago's restaurants including Frog & Snail, Province, GT Fish & Oyster, Frontier and Public House. Entertainment during the gala will include a special performance by Red Moon Theatre, live music from Chicago cover bands Dr. Bombay and South of 80, as well as deejay sets by Pete Wentz and DJ Rock City. A separate casino tent will feature roulette, blackjack and craps, as well as a silent auction. Winnings from the casino games will go towards tickets for the raffle. The event will be emceed by ABC7's "Windy City LIVE!" co-hosts Valerie Warner and Ryan Chiaverini. OfficeMax will also host a photo booth at the ball.


The event will be held at A. Finkl & Sons, 2011 N. Southport in Chicago.
