'Mad Men' is back at Banana Republic
NEW YORK — Banana Republic customers can't seem to get enough of the 'Mad Men' style, so the retailer is bringing back the collection for a third installment beginning March 1, 2013.
Designed by Banana Republic in collaboration with Emmy Award-winning Costume Designer for "Mad Men," Janie Bryant, the collection takes its inspiration from costumes featured in the show, reflecting the mod vibe of the late '60s. Spring's collection incorporates fresh bold prints, bright colors and new silhouettes, all demonstrated through the versatile and instantly wearable Banana Republic lens.
"With a new era of fashion inspiration, the design process was exciting for us and allowed for lots of creativity, which is completely visible in the end result," said Simon Kneen, Banana Republic creative director and EVP. "We took Janie's mod inspiration for the costumes on-screen and translated it in a way that today's Don or Megan will aspire to wear."
