Macy's supports March of Dimes with 'Shop For A Cause'

NEW YORK — Customers who shop at Macy's and on Aug. 25 can feel extra good, as the money raised during this charity shopping event will help support March of Dimes, a leading nonprofit organization for pregnancy and baby health.

This year, more than 6,000 local charities have signed up to participate. By purchasing $5 “Shop For A Cause” savings passes from these organizations, customers support their favorite causes and receive 25% off on regular, sale and clearance merchandise, as well as 10% off watches, furniture, mattresses and area rugs in the store all day Saturday, Aug.25, and are eligible to win a $500 gift card.

Each nonprofit organization participating in the shopping event will keep 100% of every savings pass it sells. For a list of all participating charities, please visit

“Giving back is a cornerstone of Macy’s culture, and through our annual ‘Shop For A Cause’ program, our customers have helped Macy’s raise more than $42 million for local and national charities,” said Martine Reardon, Macy’s chief marketing officer. “Our customers’ ongoing support is an inspiration and we are proud to offer them an effective, yet simple way to make a positive difference in their communities while enjoying great savings at Macy’s.”

Savings passes sold at Macy’s stores and on Aug. 25 will benefit March of Dimes, which will receive 100% of the proceeds of every savings pass sold by Macy’s.
