Catholics Outraged; Say Wal-Mart has Banned Christmas
Bentonville, Ark., Wal-Mart, faced with defending itself almost daily in the media, is now defending its stand on Christmas.
Although Wal-Mart announced it has “absolutely not” banned Christmas, but, instead, is “trying to serve all our customers for the holiday season,” a Catholic advocacy group has launched a national boycott in response to Wal-Mart’s altered holiday greeting.
According to the New York-based Catholic League for Religious and Civil Rights, Wal-Mart greeters are replacing their “Merry Christmas” wish with “Happy Holidays.”
