Brookstone Swaps Gift Cards for Discounts

Merrimack, N.H. In hopes of building store traffic, specialty retailer Brookstone is offering shoppers a 15% discount in exchange for gift cards from any other retail store.

Brookstone is accepting gift cards that have between $5 and $10 of available funds. These cards can be exchanged for a one-time 15% Brookstone store discount toward a big-ticket purchase. The cards are valid for in-store purchases only.

"Brookstone recognizes that this year holiday shoppers need to make every dollar count," said Brookstone CEO Lou Mancini. Since the promotion can be applied to an entire purchase, Brookstone expects some shoppers to be able to save several hundred dollars on a single transaction.

The promotion begins Nov. 24.
