99 Cents Only to throw first-ever 99th birthday party
CITY OF COMMERCE, Calif. — Extreme value retailer 99 Cents Only Stores is getting ready to help one of its customers celebrate her 99th birthday as only it can.
At 7 a.m. Friday, July 19, Mildred "Millie" Fox of Murrieta, Calif., is going to receive a 99-second shopping spree experience and free birthday cake at her local store. It will be 99 Cents Only Stores’ very first 99th birthday celebration.
Millie, mother of seven, has been living in Murrieta for the past 12 years and has been a loyal 99 Cents Only Stores customer. "You get more for your money and find many of the same items that you would find at other stores for less," said Millie, when asked why she likes shopping there. She added that the retailer’s prices help her extend her Social Security check.
Millie's caregiver, Susie Cortina, will help her get around the store in her wheelchair.
Founded in 1982, the extreme value retailer operates 322 stores consisting of 235 stores in California, 41 in Texas, 29 in Arizona and 17 in Nevada.
