Newegg opens online store curated for college customers
Newegg Commerce Inc. is targeting verified college students, graduates, faculty and staff with its new online student store.
The digital consumer electronics retailer’s student store offers curated products and deals for collegiate shoppers. Only students, recent graduates, faculty and staff with a .edu email address are eligible for access to deals.
The Newegg student store currently offers laptops for students and will look to expand to also include PC components, accessories, monitors and peripherals at a minimum 8% discount. The retailer says it will regularly offer new discounts for students on top brands with a promo code.
Other specialized online storefronts and tools Newegg offers laptop shoppers include the Newegg PC Builder, billed as a one-stop online shop for designing and building custom PCs. Customers navigate an intuitive workflow to configure a PC to suit their individual needs and budget, with the ability to purchase all the necessary components via a single transaction.
The retailer also provides a build-to-order (BTO) offering for customers who design their own computers on the PC Builder platform. The service leverages the retailer’s electronic numerical integrator and computer (ENIAC) in-house computer assembly service to build and deliver fully assembled computers.
And a solution called Gaming PC Finder is designed to assist customers with understanding gaming PC components and performance options to make a more informed PC purchase.
