Michaels is launching same-day delivery across Canada with Instacart.
The leading arts and crafts retailer in North America is making same-day delivery of online orders available at 100 stores across Canada.
The Michaels Companies Inc. is extending an existing U.S. partnership with the leading online delivery platform Instacart to Canada. In March 2021, Michaels initially began supplementing its proprietary same-day delivery offering with same-day delivery via Instacart from nearly 100 stores across Chicago, Dallas, and Washington, D.C.
With this latest expansion of its Instacart partnership, Michaels - the first specialty arts and crafts retailer on the Instacart platform – is enabling customers to shop from its assortment of more than 22,000 items across categories like fine arts, yarn, paper crafts, baking, jewelry-making and more, for delivery in as fast as an hour from over 1,200 locations across North America.
To begin shopping from Michaels Canada for same-day delivery via Instacart, customers can visit the dedicated page on the Instacart site or select the Michaels storefront on the Instacart mobile app. For all orders, an Instacart shopper will pick and deliver the order within the customer’s chosen delivery time frame.
Michaels is expanding its Instacart collaboration as part of a broader corporate strategy to transform its omnichannel approach. The company quickly developed and introduced a wide variety of omnichannel offerings as COVID-19 necessitated store closings, and plans to continue relying on omnichannel as a key component of its customer experience. Since the initial U.S. pilot launched in March 2021, Michaels reports that it has seen a significant number of incremental customers shop via Instacart.
