Meijer details upcoming new stores — here’s where
Meijer continues to expand its grocery store concept, as well as its signature supercenter format.
The privately owed, family-operated discounter will open a 75,000-sq.-ft. Meijer Grocery store on Sept. 30 in Fishers, Ind. It will the retailer’s second grocery format location in Indiana and the retailer's 45th store in the state.
Meijer launched its grocery format, which offers guests a “streamlined shopping experience,” in 2023. The concept brings together the essentials that customers need for a weekly shopping trip in a smaller layout than the retailer's supercenter format. The mix includes a wide assortment of fresh produce and grocery staples, along with full-service bakery, meat, seafood, and deli departments, a floral and greeting card section, pharmacy, health and beauty care, and pet supplies.
“These stores are designed to provide customers with a great shopping experience, right in the communities where they live and work each day,” said Jess Murray, VP of the Indiana region for Meijer.
In addition, Meijer will open a supercenter on Sept. 30 in Plymouth Township, Mich. The 159,000-sq.-ft. store will increase the retailer’s store count in its home state to 130.
The location will feature a wide assortment of fresh produce and grocery staples, including bakery, meat, seafood and deli departments, a floral area, garden center, apparel and home goods sections. It will also include a full-service pharmacy with a drive-through option, health and beauty care section, an expansive pet department, electronics, toys and sporting goods.
A Meijer Express fuel station will open adjacent to both stores on Sept. 2, for quick stops, beverages and snacks or prepared food on the go.

Based in Grand Rapids, Mich., Meijer operates more than 500 supercenters, grocery stores, neighborhood markets, and express locations throughout the Midwest. The retailer donates at least 6% of its net profit to Midwest communities annually, and each of its stores works with local food banks and pantries to help fight hunger.
