  • Griffin Technology chooses Revel Systems Ipad POS solution for U.S.-based stores

    San Francisco -- Revel Systems, a provider of iPad point-of-sale solutions, announced that its cloud-based POS system has been chosen by Griffin Technology and is now live in its five United States-based MicroStores.

    Revel Systems’ POS solution connects the retail locations through its cloud-based system so that data can be easily pulled in real-time, a major benefit over other server-based solutions.

  • Hallmark extends its cyber reach

    IRVINE, Calif. — Greeting card manufacturer Hallmark has extended its contract with iPass, a high-speed wide area networking platform and Wi-Fi service provider.

    Hallmark has used iPass to provide managed network services to more than 2,100 corporate and independent retail locations for the last seven years. The new five-year contract will enhance Hallmark’s networking capabilities, allowing it to add new managed services that will allow the card manufacturer to further its expansion into the digital market.

    New York -- Winick Realty Group said it has been retained by Brookfield Office Properties to exclusively market the retail concourse at One New York Plaza, in New York City.

  • Galleria at Tyler names GM

    Riverside, Calif. -- Chicago-based General Growth Properties announced it has named Jim Fuson as the new general manager for Galleria at Tyler, located in Riverside, Calif.

    Effective September 2012, Fuson as general manager is responsible for the overall shopping center with primary focus on development, leasing, and increasing the value of the asset.  In addition, he will be overseeing the administration, operations, marketing, business development, capital improvements and the strategic plan developed for the center.
     

  • Dollar General Q3 income up 21.3%; to open 635 stores in fiscal 2013

    Goodlettsville, Tenn. -- Dollar General Corp. on Tuesday posted a bigger-than-expected increase in quarterly profit and total sales in line with Wall Street expectations. But the chain said it remained cautious about the rest of the year, amid heightened pricing competition and

    Dollar General said it plans to open approximately 635 stores in fiscal 2013, including some 20 Dollar General Market stores and 40 Dollar General Plus stores. The company also plans to remodel or relocate a total of approximately 550 stores.

  • Survey: Site search, SEO and m-commerce biggest priorities in 2013

    San Jose, Calif. -- Nearly half (40%) of retailers will add a mobile version of their website in 2013, with 20% planning to create a mobile app, according to the "2012 ECommerce Trends Survey,” a survey of nearly 500 global retailers conducted by SLI Systems. Retailers’ biggest challenges in e-commerce continue to be improving conversions (63%) and attracting more customers to their websites (61%), the survey revealed.
