  • Shopko renovates e-commerce site

    GREEN BAY, Wis. -- Shopko announced that it has renovated its e-commerce site to provide a better shopping experience for its customers. 

    According to the company, the upgraded site features improved layout and navigation, user-friendly viewing from a variety of devices, including mobile and tablet, update product search capabilities and the ability to shop popular national brands from the homepage with just one click.

  • Three’s a charm as AisleBuyer seeks growth

    AisleBuyer, the mobile self-checkout and commerce solutions provider, announced the hiring of three new VPs. Jeremy Laughlin is the name most likely familiar to those in the retail industry as he spent time with Best Buy and Staples and was most recently with NCR where he oversaw implementation of a $1.5 million pilot self checkout pilot program with a Fortune 100 retailer. 

  • Best Buy in a 'rewarding' partnership

    TORONTO -- Best Buy is partnering with Points International, which operates loyalty reward program management platform, www.points.com, to enable Reward Zone members the ability to exchange points between their Best Buy Reward Zone and their other participating loyalty program accounts as well as trade with other users via the Points.com loyalty marketplace.

    PITTSBURGH -- Dick’s Sporting Goods on Tuesday showed why it is the nation’s leading sporting goods retailer by producing record profits and a 9.4% same-store sales increase that extended to six its string of consecutive quarterly comp gains.

  • Privalia acquires German online retailer Dress for Less

    London -- Online sales club Privalia Venta Directa, S.L. said Monday it will acquire Dress for Less, a German online fashion retailer, from Palamon Capital Partners, a pan-European private equity firm.
     
    The acquisition will be funded through a combination of $123 million of new equity provided by equity firms General Atlantic, Highland Capital Partners, Index Ventures and Insight Venture Partners.
     
    Dress for Less founders Mirco Schultis and Holger Hengstler will become significant shareholders in Privalia.
