  • Study: U.S. retailers’ online sales to hit $50 billion by 2020

    New York -- International sales from U.S. online retailers will jump from $11 billion in 2014 to almost $50 billion by 2020, which would make up 16% of the overall U.S. online retail market, according to a new report by OC&C Strategy Consultants.

  • Men’s Wearhouse offers international shipping for online customers

    Fremont, Calif. - Customers in the U.S. and around the world can now shop on the Men’s Wearhouse e-commerce site and ship directly to themselves or friends and family in more than 100 countries. Men's Wearhouse says it introduced international shipping in response to customer requests to do so.  

  • Sport Chek opens digital-savvy flagship in West Edmonton Mall

    Edmonton, Canada -- Sport Chek on Wednesday opened an 80,000 sq.-ft. flagship in Canada's West Edmonton Mall. The store is designed to offer a personalized shopping experience that connects consumers to the sports they are passionate about.

    The space includes 800 screens that display product images, promotions and local sports information. It features over 1,200 sq. ft. of digital projection.

  • Nordstrom Rack enters Delaware

    Seattle-based Nordstrom plans to open a Nordstrom Rack at Christiana Fashion Center in Newark, Del. The approximately 35,000-sq.-ft. store, which is scheduled to open in fall 2015, is the company’s first Rack location in the state.

    The single-level, newly built Nordstrom Rack is located at the intersection of Interstate 95 and Route 1, adjacent to Christiana Mall and will be surrounded by a strong tenant mix.

  • Digital money transfer provider Xoom acquires BlueKite

    Xoom, a leading digital money transfer provider, has acquired BlueKite, LTD, a cutting edge technology company that develops applications to improve the way people around the world pay their bills, for approximately $15 million in cash and equity.

    Guatemala City-based BlueKite, which currently has 30 employees, caught Xoom’s eye because of its technology platform for cross-border bill payments and mobile phone top-ups. This acquisition will allow Xoom to offer adjacent services to its money transfer offerings.

  • Nordstrom Rack to make Delaware debut

  • Topshop takes Manhattan

    Topshop/Topman plans to open a 40,000-sq-ft. flagship store on Fifth Avenue in New York. The new Manhattan store will be located on the corner of 49th Street, and is adjacent to Rockefeller Center.

    Leading electronics-focused e-retailer Newegg is looking to grow its customer base while keeping existing customers happy with a new customer-benefit program, which offers, in part, complimentary expedited shipping for $49.99 per year.
