  • Polaroid Fotobar to open seven mini-stores in Westfield malls in California

    Boca Raton, Fla. -- Polaroid Fotobar  will open seven “micro-retail” locations in select Westfield Malls throughout California. The 300-sq.-ft. spaces will offer services and products that allows shoppers to turn their digital images into physical prints and framed pieces of art.   
  • Gap continues global expansion with first Old Navy stores in the Middle East

    San Francisco -- Gap Inc. announced it has signed agreements to open Old Navy stores in six Middle Eastern countries with franchisees Fawaz A. Alhokair & Co. and Azadea beginning spring 2015. The first markets include U.A.E., Kuwait, Qatar and Saudi Arabia.   This is the second franchise market expansion for Old Navy. In March of this year, the brand opened its first franchise-operated stores in the Philippines.   
  • RadioShack offers price matching, new payment options for holidays

    Fort Worth, Texas -– Radio Shack is launching its new “R Promise” initiative to offer holiday shoppers services including price matching and new payment options. Radio Shack stores will match prices on identical products from local brick-and-mortar competitors, major online retailers (excluding wireless phones from online retailers) and RadioShack.com at the time of purchase or within 15 days of the purchase.  
  • Survey: Half of consumers will order online gifts days before Dec. 25

    London, U.K. - Almost half (47%) of consumers will order gifts online this Christmas with less than a week until Dec. 25. According to the latest ECustomerServiceIndex results from EDigitalResearch and IMRG, when asked what date they would be comfortable placing a holiday online order, the majority of consumers (53%) said Wednesday Dec. 17 or before.   
  • Target’s holiday plans include free online shipping, new apps and pop-up store

    Minneapolis -- Target Corp. on Wednesday fired the first retail salvo of the holiday season, announcing that, for the first time ever, it is offering free shipping on all online purchases—no matter the amount—from Oct. 22 through Dec. 20. The free shipping offer comes early in the holiday shopping timeline, reflecting retailers’ concerns about what is expected to be a highly promotional season.
