  • Survey: J.C. Penney tops in diversity among retailers

    Plano, Texas -- J.C. Penney has been named the No. 1 retailer on Diversity's annual ranking of "Top 50 Companies for Diversity," which recognizes leading organizations for best practices in diversity management.

    It is the second consecutive year that the company has earned its place on the list, moving up 11 spots to No. 35 overall.

  • Report details moms’ shopping habits

    New York City -- Almost 80% of respondents in a national survey of moms’ shopping habits said that the recession has permanently altered their shopping habits, inducing overall cuts in spending by purchasing items on sale and using coupons. The survey was conducted by the online shopping site Totsy.

  • Walmart shows commitment to seniors with Meals On Wheels donation

    BENTONVILLE, Ark. -- The Walmart Foundation has donated $5 million to Meals On Wheels Association of America (MOWAA) to help fight senior hunger in communities across the nation. Through the grant, MOWAA will boost the efforts of Senior Nutrition Programs (SNPs), organizations that provide critical services to more than six million seniors in the U.S. currently facing the threat of hunger.

  • Amazon launches appstore for Android

    SEATTLE -- Amazon.com has announced the launch of the Amazon Appstore for Android at www.amazon.com/appstore. According to the company, the Amazon Appstore includes a new feature, "Test Drive," which allows customers to test apps on a simulated Android phone. Customers control the app through their computer using a mouse.

  • Abercrombie & Fitch goes with Accertify for fraud prevention platform

    Chicago -- Accertify, a provider of software, tools and strategies for preventing fraud and a subsidiary of American Express, announced that Abercrombie & Fitch has implemented its Interceptas fraud prevention platform to enhance the retailer's ability to protect against credit card fraud in its direct-to-consumer business.

  • ACI Wordwide acquires ISD Corp.

    New York City -- ACI Worldwide, an international provider of payment systems, announced that it has acquired ISD Corp. to broaden the functionality of its payments solutions for retailers. ISD is a provider of secure payment management software and solutions for retailers in the United States and Canada.

    With the addition of 140 customers from ISD, ACI now has more than 220 retailers worldwide running ACI payment systems.
