    Assurant Solutions, a leading provider of extended protection programs and services, has appointed Jeff Unterreiner as SVP of its extended protection solutions business. 

    Unterreiner now has overall management responsibilities for the company’s extended service contract and vehicle service contract business. 

  • Target warns Q1 profit will fall short of forecast

    Minneapolis -- Target Corp. said Tuesday it will miss its first-quarter profit outlook as seasonal and weather-sensitive items underperformed.
     
    The retailer also said it now expects same-store sales to be flat in the quarter.

    Target’s quarterly results are slated to be reported on May 22.

  • J.C. Penney taps $850 million from credit facility

    Plano, Texas -- J.C. Penney Co. on Monday announced it has drawn $850 million from its $1.85 billion revolving credit line. The company said it will use the proceeds  to fund working capital requirements and capital expenditures including replenishing inventory in anticipation of the completion of for its newly overhauled in-store home departments, which are due to be unveiled next month.
