  • Report: Black Friday top date for card present fraud

    San Mateo, Calif. –- Last year, Black Friday was the top date for “card present” (CP) fraud, where a payment card is presented in a store for unauthorized usage. Data science company Feedzai analyzed data representing $750 billion in payment volume and more than 17.5 billion transactions in both card present (CP) and card not present (unauthorized online card purchases, or CNP) environments.  
  • Study: Smartphone revenue grows 141% in Q3

    Petaluma, Calif. -– Revenue coming from smartphones grew 141% year-over-year during the third quarter of fiscal 2014. According to a study from e-commerce platform provider Market Live, cultural shifts in shopping habits are revealing changes in traditional metrics; for example, mobile is creating a trend toward lower conversion rates and shorter time-on-site metrics caused by more shoppers researching products on their mobile phones and completing their purchases at a later time.
  • U.K. convenience store One Stop extends Galleria merchandising rollout

    Wolverhampton, U.K. –- U.K.-based convenience chain One Stop has been using Galleria’s Customer Centric Merchandising solution for planogram automation and optimization for a number of years, and is now implementing the Galleria Behavioral Cluster Planning tool. The new solution will provide a better understanding of consumers, assisting One Stop to understand how their categories are being shopped.   
  • SRS Retail Partners selects Esri GIS mapping tool

    Dallas -- SRS Real Estate Partners (SRS) has selected Esri as their provider of GIS mapping software and demographics tools. Brokers at SRS, as well as research consultants and other support staff, now have access to more than 50 reports which will allow them to run gap analyses, demographic reports, expenditure reports, and lifestyle segmentations.   
  • Report: Amazon uses Facebook feedback to rate holiday toys

    Seattle –- Amazon.com is reportedly using feedback collected from its “Amazon Moms” Facebook group and other corporate Facebook pages to help create promotional lists of holiday toys.

IBM i2 Enterprise Insight Analysis (EIA) can find non-obvious relationships within hundreds of terabytes of data and trillions of objects in just seconds.
