  • New Mid-America leases in Flint and Canton, Mich.

    West Bloomfield, Mich. -- Mid-America Real Estate — Michigan has announced two new leases. DXL Men’s Apparel has taken a 10,514-sq.-ft. store on Miller Road in Flint, Mich. Mid-America represented DXL in the transaction

    Jersey Mike’s has leased a 1,400-sq.-ft. location in the Canton Corners Shopping Center in Canton, Mich. Mid-America represented the landlord, Canton Corners Co., in the negotiations.

     

  • Home Depot bolsters online business with new direct fulfillment center

    The Home Depot has opened a new direct fulfillment center (DFC) in the Locust Grove suburb of Atlanta.

    It is the first of three new DFCs the company will open across the U.S. in the next two years, adding more than 3 million sq. ft. and approximately 1,000 jobs to its supply chain. The new distribution centers will increase the number of orders the company can ship the day they are received, increasing the speed of delivery for HomeDepot.com orders.

  • Walmart doubles down on Canadian brick and mortar

    Walmart is marking the 20th anniversary of its entry into Canada this year by spending big bucks to expand physical stores and distribution capacity while devoting a much smaller portion of a $500 million budget to e-commerce.

    Walmart said it would spend close to $500 million in Canada this year with $376 million of that amount dedicated to 35 supercenter projects totaling one million square feet of new selling space. Walmart currently operates 389 stores in Canada, of which 247 are supercenters. By year end it expects to have 395 stores of which 282 will be supercenters.

  • Men’s Wearhouse offers international shipping for online customers

    Fremont, Calif. - Customers in the U.S. and around the world can now shop on the Men’s Wearhouse e-commerce site and ship directly to themselves or friends and family in more than 100 countries. Men's Wearhouse says it introduced international shipping in response to customer requests to do so.

    Men's Wearhouse has introduced international shipping to online customers in more than 100 countries. The company is promising affordable shipping rates and order totals guaranteed at the time of purchase to the international community.

  • Five Below to enter Tennessee

    Philadelphia -- Five Below will enter the state of Tennessee, with plans to open up to five new stores in the market by spring of this year. With this new market, Five Below will operate stores in 20 states.

  • DD’s Discounts to relocate Texas store

    Pleasanton, Calif. – DD’s Discounts, a division of Ross Stores, Inc., will relocate its Arlington, Texas, store on Feb. 8. The newly relocated store is in Four Corners Shopping Center.

    Overall, DD’s Discounts operates 131 locations in 10 states, including 25 in Texas.

  • Five Below enters Tennessee

    As part of its 2014 expansion plans, teen and tween retailer Five Below has its eye set on the Tennessee market and will be opening five new stores there by spring.
