    The latest study on the risk posed by supply chain disruptions by Deloitte just hit the news. Executives were surveyed regarding feelings (or fears) about their exposure to unexpected events in their global supply chains. As you can imagine, most feel unprepared and report disruptions have become more costly. Negative outcomes in the global supply chain like costly margin erosion and demand change are all too common for most companies.

  • Bongo helps online wholesaler go international

    SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. — DollarDays.com, an online wholesale distributor, has recently joined forces with Bongo International to offer customers located worldwide the same discounts and service that U.S. clients have enjoyed for over 12 years. Bongo International is a global e-commerce solution providing U.S. retailers access to international markets with no change to their current operations.

  • The Fresh Market VP real estate to step down

    New York -- The Fresh Market announced the resignation of Randy Kelley as SVP real estate and development. Kelley, who is leaving the grocer, to pursue a new business opportunity, will remain with the company through early spring.

  • Overstock.com opens Kentucky warehouse

    Salt Lake City -- Overstock.com said Wednesday it has opened a distribution and returns facility in Hebron, Ky., outside Cincinnati.

    The facility, the company’s second, will receive product returns and handle outbound shipments.  Overstock.com officials say this additional distribution facility will reduce the time for resolution and refunds for customer returns.  

    The company’s primary warehouse will remain in Salt Lake City.

     

  • RKF arranges leases across Manhattan for Pret A Manger

    New York -- RKF announced that it has arranged four long-term leases for U.K.-based sandwich chain Pret A Manger.

    The new stores are located at 655 Sixth Avenue, 319 Broadway, 350 Park Avenue and 303 Park Avenue South. With the addition of these new stores, Pret A Manger will have 36 Manhattan locations.

    While the 655 Sixth Avenue location recently opened, the other three locations are slated to open in April.

     

  • Clarion Partners awards JLL leasing, management of Coral Sky Plaza

    Royal Palm Beach, Fla. -- Jones Lang LaSalle Retail announced that the firm has been retained by Clarion Partners as the exclusive leasing and management agent for Coral Sky Plaza in Royal Palm Beach, Fla.

    The 233,000-sq.-ft. strip center is anchored by BJ’s Wholesale Club and is currently 97% leased.

    Coral Sky Plaza is tenanted by Ross Dress for Less, Bed Bath & Beyond, Buy Buy Baby and BJ’s Wholesale Club. Jones Lang LaSalle said it is currently seeking high-impact retailers to fill a vacant endcap space.

     

  • Target Canada opens three pilot stores

    MISSISSAUGA, Ontario — As Target's Canadian debut draws near, the company announced that it is opening three pilot stores in Ontario on March 5 at Stone Road in Guelph, Milton Mall Shopping Centre in Milton and Gates of Fergus in Fergus. The three pilot stores are the first Target locations to open in Canada, and the first of 124 Target stores that will open across the country throughout 2013.

  • Dr Pepper Snapple Group acquires Nev. bottling company

    PLANO, Texas — Dr Pepper Snapple Group has purchased a company that bottles its beverages for much of the West, the company said.
