  • Target to stop reporting monthly sales

    New York -- Target Corp. will soon join the ranks of retailers who are no longer reporting monthly same-store sales. The discounter on Thursday said it will no longer report comparable sales, beginning in fiscal 2013.

  • Walgreens September sales down 7.8%

    DEERFIELD, Ill. — Walgreens on Wednesday posted a 7.8% decline in its September sales to nearly $5.5 billion, compared with $5.9 billion for the same month in fiscal 2012.

  • E-commerce shines some light on dim Wet Seal sales

    FOOTHILL RANCH, Calif. — The Wet Seal reported that total sales declined 9.9% to $48.3 million for the month of September. Comparable-store sales fell 12.7% compared with same-store sales that were essentially flat last year.

    E-commerce sales, which increased 15% for the month, were a bright spot for the company.

    Fremont, Calif. -- The Men’s Wearhouse and online wedding site The Knot Wedding Network announced Wednesday that Men’s Wearhouse will be the exclusive tuxedo provider for TheKnot.com.

    The new arrangement will give brides-to-be the opportunity to view and interact with Men's Wearhouse brand-name tuxedo merchandise at an early stage of the wedding planning process.

  • Target ranks sixth in RT Top 100

    In case you missed it, Retailing Today published its annual Insights 2013 issue recently and while Target is currently the nation’s sixth largest retailer that position is likely to change in 2013.

    It is conceivable Target could become the nation’s fourth largest retailer by this time next year, overtaking both Home Depot and Walgreens.
