  • Same store sales grow 2.2% at Neiman Marcus

    <The Neiman Marcus Group says currency exchange rates put pressure on traffic in the first quarter as the company reported a smaller than expected boost in same store sales. 

    The retailer said same store sales increased 2.2% for the third quarter ended May 2 as the strong dollar had some impact on the retailer’s business.

  • Report: Kmart hires new marketing chief

    Kmart has overhauled its marketing team by making several personnel changes and replacing its CMO with a veteran from DSW.

    According to Ad Age, the company has named Kelly Cook as its new chief marketing officer after Mark Andeer left the company.

    Cook will be leading the company's "omnichannel transformation," according to Ad Age.

    The name for Whole Foods Market's new "streamlined and value-focused brand" is not exactly streamlined.

    Slated to begin opening in 2016, the new stores, called "365 by Whole Foods Market," will offer "convenience and everyday low prices on natural and organic products that meet the company's industry-leading quality standards," the company announced Thursday.

  • Survey: Half of credit card holders don’t care about rewards

    New York — If credit card issuers stopped offering rewards, a slight majority of American credit cardholders wouldn’t change their spending habits. According to a new Bankrate.com survey, 51% of U.S. credit card holders say they would keep using the card the same way they did previously.    Another 26% would use the card less often and 19% would stop using it entirely.
