6/11/2015

Austin, Texas — Whole Foods Market unveiled the name of its new banner of smaller, value-focused and millenial-targeted stores: “365 by Whole Foods Market.”

The name is drawn from the company’s 365 Everyday Value house brand. Company veteran Jeff Turnas will serve as president of the new venture, which will debut in 2016 and be based at the company’s Austin headquarters.Turnas has held a variety of leadership positions in the company, including president of the company’s North Atlantic Region, and, most recently, as president of its U.K. Region.

“We are excited to introduce 365 by Whole Foods Market to bring healthy foods to even more communities with a fresh, quality-meets-value shopping experience that’s fun and convenient,” Turnas said. “A modern, streamlined design with innovative technology and a carefully curated product mix will offer an efficient and rewarding way to grocery shop.”

Whole Foods has said it expects to open five to 10 of the new format stores across the United States in 2016, and thinks the new chain could eventually grow to the same size as its parent chain.
