  • Office Depot targets de-cluttering consumers

    Office Depot Inc. is focusing on attracting de-cluttering consumers as the retailer awaits regulatory approval of its merger with Staples.

    Office Depot announced it is launching Perch by Urbio, a new line of organization products for the home or office, available now in both Office Depot and OfficeMax retail locations and online at officedepot.com.

  • Oracle focuses on agility with retail cloud offering

    Redwood Shores, Calif. – Oracle is focusing squarely on retail agility with the latest additions to its comprehensive set of retail cloud solutions. The new Oracle Retail Science Cloud Services and Oracle Retail Insights Cloud Services offer cloud-based access to Big Data analysis and expertise, scaled for retailers of all sizes.

  • Yahoo files with SEC for Alibaba holdings spinoff

    Sunnyvale, Calif. – Yahoo Inc. has initially filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) to spin off its remaining holdings in Alibaba Group Holding Ltd. into a new public company called Aabaco Holdings Inc. Yahoo initially announced its plans to spin off its Alibaba stake in January 2015.

  • Francesca's adds Limited veteran

    Francesca's is adding a retail industry veteran to its board.

    The retailer has appointed Martyn Redgrave as a member of the board of directors. The appointment is effective immediately. Redgrave will serve on the audit committee and the nominating and corporate governance committee.

  • Report: eBay makes acquisition after PayPal split

    San Jose, Calif. – eBay Inc. is not wasting any time in moving on now that its long-anticipated split with PayPal Inc. is official. According to MarketWatch, eBay has acquired online consignment apparel retailer Twice, and will not maintain the Twice brand.

  • Ross opens 27 stores, has bigger plans

    Dublin, Calif. - Ross Stores has some big plans when it comes to opening new stores. Ross is opening of 19 Ross Dress for Less and eight dd's Discounts stores across 15 different states in July.

    These new locations are part of the off-price retailer's 2015 expansion plans to add a total of approximately 90 stores during the year, including 70 Ross and 20 dd's Discounts. Ultimately, the retailer believes Ross Dress for Less can grow to 2,000 locations and dd's Discounts can become a chain of 500 stores

    Rite Aid is targeting consumers looking for quality and convenient health care with the debut of telemedicine kiosks at some of its stores. 
  • Taylor Swift goes with JD.com in China

    In the e-commerce fight between China's Alibaba and JD.com, Taylor Swift has declared a winner.

    The pop superstar announced that JD.com will be the official online source of Taylor Swift items in China, including a new fashion line the music superstar designed specifically for the Chinese market.
