    Express is partnering with 17 specialty men’s apparel brands to launch a new e-commerce site.

    The exclusive online-only shop will launch on express.com beginning October 2015 and will feature brands including Creative Recreation, Havaianas, Timex, Robert Mason and more. Product categories will include footwear, watches, bags & small leather accessories, electronics, small accessories & giftables and jewelry.

  • Rite Aid celebrates re-opening of Baltimore location

    Rite Aid on Tuesday celebrates the grand re-opening of its store at 300 Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard in Baltimore Tuesday. The store has been operating out of a temporary trailer after sustaining significant damage during the protests that rocked the city last spring.

    Joining Rite Aid executive VP Bryan Everett at the ribbon-cutting ceremony will be U.S. Rep. Elijah Cummings and Baltimore Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake.

  • Kmart plans a Happy Halloween for shoppers

    Shoppers who hit the aisles at Kmart this Halloween are in for more treats than tricks.

    The company said that shoppers in costume on Oct. 31 will receive a coupon for a purchase over $30. Additionally, the first 100 children ages 12 and under who show up to trick or treat will receive a fun-size candy bar.

  • Loyola University Chicago names Mid-America to represent its retail portfolio

    Chicago -- Mid-America Real Estate Corporation announced it will exclusively represent Loyola University Chicago on their entire retail portfolio on the Lake Shore and Water Tower campuses in Chicago, as well as the retail at the base of a proposed Hampton Inn hotel.

    Chicago-based Lakeside Management, NFP manages Loyola’s retail assets totaling nearly 110,000 sq. ft. and will be working closely with Mid-America.

  • Survey: Omnichannel consumers favor consistency

    Retailers operating across multiple channels need to ensure customer experience does not vary by touchpoint.

    According to a new survey of 1,000 consumers by customer experience management technology provider Sitecore and King Brown Partners, 80% of respondents agreed that offering consistent shopping experiences strongly impacts a retailer’s brand perception. Ninety percent of consumers would switch brands if the brand promises one thing and delivers another.

  • Amazon offers prime dining option in Portland

    Hungry consumers in Portland just got a new option for convenient eating.

    Amazon.com is enabling Prime Now customers in Portland to obtain free delivery from local restaurants and food carts. Using the Prime Now mobile app, Portland customers can view participating restaurants, browse menus, place orders, track the status of their delivery, and watch as the driver travels from the restaurant to the delivery address in real time.

    Once an order is placed, Amazon delivery drivers pick up and deliver the food within an hour or less.

  • The Fresh Market explores bid for company

    Just a few weeks after installing a new CEO, the Fresh Market is planning to conduct a strategic review that may include a sale of the specialty grocery chain.

    The company says it has retained J.P. Morgan Securities as its financial advisor to assist in this process, which may result in the company continuing to pursue value-enhancing initiatives as a standalone company, capital structure optimization, or a sale of the company or other business combination.

  • Holiday forecast: Cold temps, hot sales

    Favorable weather, an extra shopping day and new tech gadgets should attract more shoppers this holiday season, according to a new report.

    The U.S. Holiday 2015 Forecast from the FBIC Group says retailers should expect a happy holiday 2015 selling season, with combined spending in November and December to rise between 3% and 4% over 2014 levels to between $626 billion to $633 billion.
