  • Norred gains new CPG and retail responsibilities

    CROSSMARK veteran Jim Norred was named president of the sales and marketing services company’s Marketing Solutions Group.

    Norred most recently served as EVP of corporate development with responsibility for client services, business development, insights and corporate marketing. Prior to that, he served as the company’s CIO. He also has served as president of G2, an integrated marketing joint venture that ultimately was acquired by WPP in 2008.

  • Action Services Group forms LED Lighting Business Group

    Aston, Penn. - Action Services Group, a national lighting maintenance, sign maintenance and electrical services company, has formed a strategic LED Lighting Business Group dedicated to meeting the growing demands of LED lighting retrofits and installations across retail markets. The newly formed LED Lighting SBU will provide an extensive range of services related to LED lighting.   

  • Dunkin’ Donuts plans seven new Arizona stores

    Canton, Mass. –- Dunkin’ Donuts has signed a multi-unit store development agreement with existing franchisees ABDD Arizona to develop seven restaurants in Phoenix. The group's first restaurant from this franchise agreement opened Oct. 27.  
  • BH Properties names chief acquisition officer

    Los Angeles -- BH Properties has announced the hire of Andrew Van Tuyle as chief acquisition officer. In this role, Van Tuyle will be responsible for the firm’s property and debt acquisitions throughout the Southwest.  
  • Retail vacancy rate in central New Jersey at six-year low

    Old Bridge, N.J. -- An improved picture in both ‘big-box’ and smaller store spaces combined to push the retail vacancy rate along central New Jersey’s major shopping corridors to a six-year low of 7.6% from 9.8% in 2013, according to the latest study by R.J. Brunelli & Co. Looking back over the past 10 years, the 2014 figure compared with the high of 10.5% in 2011 and low of 3.4% in 2006.  
  • CROSSMARK exec named CEO at WIS

    The retail inventory specialist firm WIS International named merchandising and marketing services veteran Jim Rose as its new president and CEO.

    Rose most recently served as president of marketing services at CROSSMARK, a leading provider of marketing and merchandising services. Rose also previously served as chairman and CEO for Mosaic Sales Solutions and also held senior roles at The Nielsen Company and MPG, a global advertising and communications company.

  • Global Franchise Group names Andrew Kmiec as VP of Real Estate

    Atlanta -- Global Franchise Group, the brand management company and franchisor behind Great American Cookies, Pretzelmaker, Marble Slab Creamery,  MaggieMoo’s Ice Cream & Treatery and Hot Dog on a Stick, has hired Andrew Kmiec as VP of Real Estate. Kmiec will be responsible for directing GFG’s real estate team in the areas of strategic site selection, lease negotiation and store design for franchisees and corporate owned locations.  
  • Delhaize bails on Bottom Dollar

    ALDI is accelerating its growth and dramatically increasing its presence in the Northeast with the acquisition of 66 Bottom Dollar Food stores from Delhaize Group.

    Delhaize said it reached an agreement to sell its 66 Bottom Dollar stores in the greater Philadelphia and Pittsburgh markets for $15 million and associated lease liabilities. Delhaize said it would take an asset impairment charge of $180 million in conjunction with the sale.
