    Albertsons Companies is taking steps to help its buyers add new products to store shelves.   By adopting an online platform from RangeMe, buyers will gain an efficient way to discover innovative new products and manage the inbound product submission process. The solution supports buyers’ and suppliers’ efforts in finding relevant and trending products for customers, who then benefit from a broader selection of items to choose from in the aisle, the chain said.  
  • CBRE hires store-within-a-store expert

    CBRE has brought in a former Sears executive to help retailers monetize under-performing retail space through partnerships with outside brands.   Kevin Marschall, formerly director of strategic partnerships and licensed business at Sears, has joined CBRE as a store-within-a-store specialist in the company’s retail partnerships unit.  
  • Off-pricer retailer sets 2017 expansion

    It’s going to be a busy spring for Stein Mart.   The Florida-based chain will open five stores this spring –– the first phase of its 2017 store plan to open a total of 11 new stores. The remainder of the locations will open in the fall.    “These new stores fall within our real estate strategy to grow sales by filling existing markets where we are doing well,” said Hunt Hawkins, CEO of Stein Mart, which operates 290 stores.

  • Walsh joins Trademark leasing department

    Gavin Walsh has joined Trademark Property Co. as a senior leasing representative focused on mixed-use properties in Texas. They include Waterside in Fort Worth, Watters Creek in Allen, and Hillside Village in Cedar Hill.   Walsh arrives at the Fort Worth-based developer from The Shopping Center Group in Raleigh, North Carolina, where he handled a portfolio exceeding three million sq. ft. He also worked as a broker for Katz & Associates in the state.
