  • Beauty.com leverages free gift to drive traffic to site

    Beauty.com is offering a free gift as an incentive for shoppers to spend at least $100 on the site. The Heartbeat Bag, developed by the creative force behind New York fashion line, Honor, is a clutch filled with products.

    The black cosmetics case is clad in white hearts and has white lining dotted with black hearts. Shoppers can store beauty products in the translucent pink windows. The inside and outside of the clutch are waterproof.

  • CVS offers double quarterly loyalty earnings

    Woonsocket, R.I. – CVS/pharmacy is offering members of its ExtraCare loyalty program double their ExtraBucks quarterly reward earnings between Sept. 16 and Dec. 15. Members can sign up for double earnings in-store or online and receive 4% instead of the usual 2% back on all eligible front-store purchases in the form of “ExtraBucks” that can be spent like cash in the store.

  • Report: Shipping costs key to online shopping

    Ann Arbor, Mich. -- Seventy-seven percent of consumers say shipping costs factor into their willingness to shop online. Results of the CFI Group Retail Satisfaction Barometer for second quarter 2013 also show that the most common consumer activity on retail websites is browsing and researching before in-store purchase (59%).

    JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Stein Mart is among the first off-price retailers to launch an online store.

    New York -- Barneys New York has launched a new credit card program that features an “Influencer tier” for added luxury benefits and incentives.

    The new program expands on the My Barneys Bag platform, which offers card members reward points based on annual spend, and offers additional benefits – through the Influencer tier – to a select group of high spenders.

  • Things Remembered taps former David’s Bridal exec as CMO

    Cleveland -- Personalized gifts retailer Things Remembered announced the appointment of Catalina Maddox-Wagers to senior VP, chief merchandising and marketing officer, effective Sept. 3.

    Maddox-Wagers previously served as executive VP and general merchandising manager for retailer David’s Bridal. In her new role, she will further evolve the Things Remembered brand in product development, brand marketing, in-store and online merchandising,
