Stein Mart opens for e-commerce business

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Stein Mart is among the first off-price retailers to launch an online store.



"We are excited to announce that we are in the e-commerce business and happy to be able to serve our customers who like to shop online," said Jay Stein, CEO. "As we learn more and grow this business, we anticipate that this channel will rapidly become our largest flagship 'store'."



The online store offers a significant selection of the retailer's brick-and-mortar store merchandise, plus exclusive online-only offerings. Customers are encouraged to visit the site often, as the retailer will be adding more merchandise categories, including a limited selection of shoes, over the next several weeks.



The key driving force for opening the online store was to expand the store's customer base and give shoppers the 24-hour access to some asked for and anticipated. Customers will be able to create a wish list, view the latest coupons and connect with Stein Mart through social media all via the online store.
