  • Best new products revealed at IRI Summit

    Dannon Light & Fit Greek Yogurt, Tide Pods and Monster Energy Ultra were recognized as New Product Pacesetters this week as Information Resources (IRI) unveiled the best new products of 2013 at its annual summit.

  • New tenants for Warrenton, Va., center

    Virginia Beach, Va. — Two new tenants have signed into Warrenton Towne Center in Warrenton, Va., according to Divaris Real Estate, the broker representing Kalis Holdings, the landlord, in the transactions.

    Regis Corporation leased 2,502 sq. ft. in the center for a beauty salon. The company owns, franchises or holds ownership interests in 9,763 locations worldwide.

  • RMC wins new leasing assignments in South Florida

    Tampa, Fla.RMC Property Group has earned two exclusive leasing assignments on Florida’s southern West Coast.

    First is Fountain Court, a 180,420-sq.-ft. community shopping center in Bradenton’s Highway 64 retail corridor near the beaches and Anna Maria Island. Anchor tenants include Bealls Department Store and Planet Fitness.

  • NRF urges online sales tax

    Washington, D.C. -- The National Retail Federation (NRF) is urging Congress to pass legislation that would require online and remote sellers to collect state and local sales taxes, telling a House committee that lawmakers should level the playing field between local retailers and out-of-state competitors. David French, senior VP of the NRF, told the House Judiciary Committee in a letter that legislation is needed to end the sales tax disparity.

  • Shopatron extends omni-channel past the point of purchase

    San Luis Obispo, Calif. - Shopatron is unveiling its Shopatron Customer Care Suite, which includes a new set of APIs available within the Shopatron Developer applications, and a new customer care interface. Shopatron launched the two platforms to complement its order management technology, allowing retailers to intelligently manage the customer experience anytime, anywhere, and by any authorized user.

  • Williams-Sonoma had a great holiday

    Williams-Sonoma president and CEO Laura Alber credited the strength of the company’s brands across retail and e-commerce for its performance in the fourth quarter ended Feb. 2.

  • Express net income, sales fall in Q4; plans new outlets

    Columbus, Ohio – Net income at Express Inc. fell 25% during the fourth quarter of fiscal 2013, dropping from $63.9 million to $47.9 million. Net sales declined 2% from $731.7 million, to $715.9 million.

    Same-store sales rose 1%. The company cited heavy promotions as impacting its quarterly results, which did not meet Wall Street expectations. Express intends to start opening outlet stores beginning in May 2014.

    Verifi, a leading provider of global electronic payment and risk management solutions for card-not-present merchants, and ReD (Retail Decisions), a leading global fraud prevention services company, have agreed to jointly develop new products and solutions to benefit CNP (card-not-present) merchants.
