  • DSGE names COO as chairman, president and CEO

    Dallas - DGSE Companies Inc. has named James D. “Dusty” Clem to the positions of chairman, president and CEO, effective immediately. Clem replaces James Vierling, who has resigned as CEO and as a director of DGSE to accept a position with Elemetal LLC, DGSE’s largest shareholder.

  • Report: California shopping center to expand use permit

    Woodland, Calif. – The Gateway Shopping Center in Woodland, Calif. has reportedly received permission to expand the types of businesses allowed in its use permit. According to the Woodland Daily Democrat, the Woodland Planning Commission is granting approval for food services, banks, professional service offices, nail salons and dry cleaners to be located at the center.

    RadioShack and Payless Shoes are also reportedly awaiting approval to open stores at the center.

     

  • The Children’s Place to SkyView Center in Queens, N.Y.

    Queens, N.Y. — The Children’s Place has leased a 3,799-sq.-ft. space near other child focused retailers at The Shops at SkyView Center in the Flushing neighborhood of Queens, N.Y. The retailer plans to open in May.

  • Hot online retailer Birchbox raises $60 million in funding

    New York -- E-commerce company Birchbox, provide subscribers with monthly boxes of personalized beauty products for a monthly fee, announced Monday that it has raised $60 million of Series B funding from a group led by Greenwich, Conn.-based Viking Global Investors, Crain’s New York reported.

    Birchbox, which is set to open its first physical store this spring, now has more than 800,000 subscribers receiving 6,500 different products from 800 brand partners.

  • Simon and NRG eVgo launch electric car charging stations

    Washington, D.C. — Simon Property Group and NRG eVgo (ee-vee-go), a subsidiary of NRG Energy will host an amped-up Earth Day Electric Car Caravan to unveil three new electric car fast-charging Freedom Station sites at St. Charles Towne Center, Bowie Town Center and Queenstown Premium Outlets in Maryland. The caravan will attend ribbon-cutting ceremonies at each center on April 22.

  • Petco names president of its small-format division, Unleashed by Petco

    San Diego -- Petco today that Brad Weston, currently executive VP, chief merchandising officer, has been named president of the company’s small-format division, Unleashed by Petco. In this newly created and expanded role, Weston will drive all future strategy and operations for Unleashed by Petco, while continuing to lead merchandising for the Petco brand.

  • CBRE completes sale Frisco, Texas shopping center

    Dallas — Shayan Holdings has purchased the 29,200-sq.-ft. Lebanon Ohio Center, an unanchored strip retail complex, in Frisco, Texas. The seller was LandPlan Development Corporation. The price was not disclosed.

    The center is currently 90% occupied. Tenants include CrossFit Remedy and Arts and Technology Institute. CBRE’s Dallas office represented the seller in the transaction and conducted the financial analysis.
