  • EveryWare Global appoints interim CEO

    EveryWare Global’s board of directors has named Sam Solomon as interim CEO. Solomon is succeeding John Sheppard, who left the company this week.

  • Stein Mart embarks on largest store expansion since 2007

    Stein Mart plans to open 10 new stores this year as part of its largest store expansion since 2007.

    Locations in the Miami, Washington, D.C., and Las Vegas areas are set to open this spring, bringing the company's total nationwide store count to more than 270.

  • Revlon makes executive changes

    Revlon has appointed Gianni Pieraccioni as EVP and global president of the Revlon consumer division and Sennen Pamich as EVP and global president of the Revlon professional division. The announcement comes as Chris Elshaw, Revlon’s EVP and COO, makes his exit.

  • Winter weather affects Macy’s fourth-quarter results

    Despite an 11% profit increase in the fourth quarter, sales at Macy’s missed forecasts as ongoing winter storms hurt the retailer’s results in January.

    Macy’s reported net income of $811 million during the fourth quarter, up 5% from $730 million in the same period a year earlier. Sales dropped 1.6% to $9.2 billion from $9.35 billion. Analysts had expected a more modest decline to about $9.28 billion. Same-store sales grew 1.4% for the quarter, less than the 2.5% projected by Wall Street.

  • True Value enhances mobile ordering app

    True Value's Mobile Order App for smartphones is putting more power into the hands of retailers, according to the co-op.

    The True Value mobile ordering app, which began as a concept about 18 months ago, is now in its sixth month of operation. It's in use at about 1,800 retailers making thousands of orders, said Rosalee Hermans, head of information technology for True Value.

  • CVS joins CommonWell Health Alliance

    CVS has joined CommonWell Health Alliance, a health information technology vendor-led interoperability effort.

    The company joins founding members Allscripts, Athenahealth, Cerner, CPSI, Greenway, McKesson and Sunquest and service provider RelayHealth in the Alliance's work.
