Ebates taps new SVP of corporate development
Ebates, the owner and operator of the world's most rewarding shopping programs, has appointed Yen Lee as SVP of corporate development.
Most recently, Lee served as co-founder and CEO of Uptake, a travel research website. There he is credited with developing the company’s go-to-market strategy and leading corporate development initiatives that established Uptake as America’s third largest travel research website and resulted in a strategic acquisition by Groupon. At Ebates, Lee will support the brand’s ongoing growth through the development of strategic partnerships and other special projects.
“We welcome Yen Lee to the Ebates team and are pleased to have him join us,” said CEO Kevin H. Johnson. “Yen’s experience in creating successful and dynamic strategies that drive growth will be a real advantage to continuing the expansion of our business.”
Lee has more than 17 years of experience growing businesses in the marketplace/e-commerce, small business and search/discovery sectors at both startups and Fortune 1000 companies, including serving as GM for travel at Yahoo! Search & Marketplace. Lee’s previous roles also include EVP of business development and product marketing at WorldRes, and director of operations at CitySearch.
“I’m delighted to be onboard the Ebates team at such an exciting time for the company,” said Lee. “Ebates has positioned itself as the category leader in online and mobile shopping and continues to build a large and loyal member base. I look forward to propelling even more rapid growth for the company as it ascends to the next level.”
Lee has a master’s degree from Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a HBA from the University of Western Ontario.
