  • Ross Dress for Less opens three Indiana stores July 19

    Dublin, Calif. - Ross Dress for Less will open three new stores in Indiana on July 19. The stores include Waterford Park South Shopping Center in Clarksville, Shops on Main in Schererville, and Erskine Village in South Bend.  
        
    These new openings are part of the retailer’s 2014 expansion program, totaling approximately 75 new locations during the year.

     

  • Five Below head merchant Moore moves on

    Less than a month after former Walmart.com CEO  Joel Anderson joined Five Below as president, the discount retailer’s EVP of merchandising Jeffrey Moore has resigned.

    Five Below, which bills itself as the leading retailer of trend-right, high-quality, extreme-value merchandise for pre-teens, teens and beyond, spoke highly of Moore who is leaving to spend time with his family.

  • Mid-America secures retail leases in Chicago’s southwest suburbs

    Oakbrook Terrace, Ill. -- Mid-America Asset Management Inc. has announced three new retail leases on behalf of two shopping centers in Chicago’s southwest suburbs.     

    Flexeon Rehabilitation signed a lease for 2,923 sq. ft. at Hillcrest Shopping Center in Crest Hill, Illinois. The 240,268-sq.-ft. center is anchored by TJ Maxx, Food 4 Less, Citi Trends, and Harbor Freight Tools.

  • Five Below executive VP merchandising leaving

    Philadelphia -- Five Below announced the departure of Jeffrey Moore, executive VP merchandising.

    "Over the last seven years Jeff has been an integral part of the success of Five Below as he has helped build the world-class merchandising team we have in place. We thank Jeff for his significant contributions to the business and we wish him well as he leaves to spend time with his family," said Tom Vellios, co-founder and CEO of Five Below.
       

  • dd’s Discounts to open in downtown Portland, Oregon

    Dublin, Calif. — dd’s DISCOUNTS, a division of Ross Stores, will open a new store in downtown Portland on June 28th in a former Ross Dress for Less location. Counting the new location, dd’s DISCONTS will operate over 140 locations in 13 states. The retailer is on schedule to open approximately 20 locations in 2014.

  • Survey: Retail shrink translates into $57 billion loss; cash theft jumps 20%

    New York -- Shrinkage levels average 1.27% of sales, which translates to a $57 billion loss to the industry, according to the U.S. Retail Fraud Survey, which is based on research into the systems and strategies used by 100 leading North American retailers.

  • Tilly’s to open in Moreno Valley Mall in Moreno Valley, Calif.

    Moreno Valley, Calif. — National action sports retailer, Tilly’s will open its doors at Moreno Valley Mall on July 1. A grand opening celebration is scheduled for Saturday, July 19. The retailer will occupy 7,148 sq. ft. at the Inland Empire shopping center, which is managed by Spinoso Real Estate Group.
