  • European Wax Center to open at Indian Springs Center

    The Woodlands, Texas -- Jacksonville, Fla.-based Regency Centers said it has leased retail space in The Woodlands, Texas, at Indian Springs Center to European Wax Center.

    Specializing in facial and body waxing, European Wax Center has leased 2,528 sq. ft., bringing the center to 99% leased. The tenant is slated to open for business in February 2011.

    The 136,624-sq.-ft. shopping center is anchored by H.E.B. alongside national retailers such as Subway, Edible Arrangements, Massage Envy and Supercuts.

  • Qdoba to open two new restaurants in Pennsylvania

    Philadelphia -- Michael Salove Co., an X Team partner based in Center City Philadelphia, announced that it has completed two lease transactions in the Greater Philadelphia market with Qdoba Mexican Grill.

    Qdoba will open a 2,600-sq.-ft. unit in Providence Town Center in Collegeville, Pa. and will open a 2,300-sq.-ft. unit in Wynnewood Square in Wynnewood, Pa.

  • Three new tenants open at Commons at Town Center

    Boca Raton, Fla. -- Woolbright Development announced that the following three stores have recently signed leases at The Commons at Town Center in Boca Raton, Fla., and are now open for business.

    Plato’s Closet occupies 3,000 sq .ft., Prime Cigar & Wine Bar occupies 2,335 sq. ft., and Jamie’s Boutique, which sells high-end women's contemporary and denim apparel, occupies 1,235 sq. ft.

    The 117,921-sq.-ft. Commons at Town Center is anchored by Barbara Katz, TooJays and Moe's Southwest Grill.

  • The Crossings at Four Corners redevelopment gets zoning and financing nod

    Smyrna, Ga. -- Westchester, Ill.-based Tri-Land Properties announced that it has received zoning and financing approval for The Crossings at Four Corners in Smyrna, Ga. Tri-Land has sold eight acres of the project to Cincinnati, Ohio-based Kroger Co.

    Cole Taylor, a Chicago based lender, is providing the construction financing for the project.

  • MetroPCS to open at 25th Street Shopping Center

    Easton, Pa. -- New York City-based The Lightstone Group announced that wireless provider MetroPCS has signed a 1,080-sq.-ft. lease at the 25th Street Shopping Center, located in Easton, Pa.

    The 25th Street Shopping Center is a 131,000-sq.-ft. retail strip corridor that is home to CVS, Radio Shack, Petco, Retro Fitness, Jenny Craig, McDonald's, Pizza Hut and Sherwin-Williams.

  • Fresh & Easy to install solar systems on nine Arizona stores

    El Segundo, Calif. -- Fresh & Easy Neighborhood Market has announced a partnership with REC Solar, a leading solar electric system provider in the United States, to install roof-mount solar systems on nine stores in Arizona. The installation of the systems will begin in March 2011.

    The combined 410 kW of installed solar systems will produce an estimated 620,000 kilowatt-hours (kWh) annually, the equivalent of reducing 22 million lbs. of CO2 emissions -- or removing 28 million car-driven miles -- over the next 25 years.

  • 7-Eleven continues aggressive growth with purchase of 183 ExxonMobile sites

    Dallas -- 7-Eleven has agreed to acquire ExxonMobil's retail interests in 183 Florida sites. The transaction, expected to close early in 2011, is subject to standard closing conditions and regulatory approvals. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

  • Report: Wal-Mart to stop overtime pay for Sunday hours

    New York City -- Wal-Mart Stores will stop paying an additional $1 an hour for working Sundays, taking a bite out of its single biggest expense, Bloomberg reported. The change will take effect at Walmart stores, Sam’s Club outlets and warehouses.

    The move, which takes effect next year, applies only to associates hired after Jan. 1, the report said. It wouldn’t affect the retailer’s current U.S. staff, which numbers approximately 1.4 million.
