  • PizzaRev plans 40-plus franchise stores in five new markets

    Los Angeles -- PizzaRev, a fast-casual build-your-own pizza concept, is adding five franchise groups to develop the brand throughout Denver, Washington D.C., Las Vegas, Long Island, New York and Columbus, Ohio. PizzaRev plans to open at least 40 franchise locations across the markets.   Beyond its 12 corporate locations in greater Los Angeles, PizzaRev currently operates franchise locations across four states.  
  • GE Capital provides financing to MX Restaurants for Corner Bakery Cafe

    Scottsdale, Ariz. -- GE Capital’s Franchise Finance business announced its first financing for the Corner Bakery Café brand. It  comes in the form of a $5.6 million loan to Texas-based MX Restaurants and Bakeries, which already operates seven Corner Bakery restaurants in the Houston and South Texas markets. MX will use these funds to pay off short-term debt related to a recent acquisition and to develop four additional units.

    Las Vegas -- Today’s convenience stores face growing pressure to evolve amid the ramped-up expectations of global consumers, according to remarks made by Joseph Bona, president of branded environments at brand agency and retail design consultancy CBX, and Dan Munford, managing firector of U.K.-based Insight, convenience and petroleum retail strategy specialists, at the National Association of Convenience Stores’ annual convention in Las Vegas.  
  • Dunkin’ Donuts plans 40 new Michigan stores

    Canton, Mass. –- Dunkin’ Donuts plans to open 40 new restaurants in Michigan during the next several years, in addition to more than 60 currently operating in the state. The retailer continues to recruit franchise candidates there with an emphasis on Flint, Lansing and Traverse City.    
  • McDonald’s launches omnichannel informational effort

    Oak Brook, Ill. -- McDonald’s USA will answer questions from customers through a multichannel effort called “Our Food. Your Questions.” The company invites people to submit their food questions via social media.    McDonald’s will respond with behind-the-scenes webisodes and other social content that provides facts on ingredients, how food is made and how it’s prepared in restaurants.

  • CBRE completes $5.1 million sale of Peoria Marketplace

    Peoria, Ariz. -- CBRE has completed the sale of Peoria Marketplace, a 25,481-sq.-ft. multi-tenant shopping center in Peoria, Arizona. The grocery shadow-anchored retail property was sold for $5.1 million.

    The seller was G and T Retail Properties, LLC of Phoenix, and the buyer was Westlake Village, California-based Barstow Shopping Centers, LLC.

    The property, which was 91% occupied at time of sale, features national tenants like Farmers Insurance, H&R Block, Panda Express, Little Caesar’s Pizza and Subway.
